The Interstellar Medium / The Interstellar Medium / Weber State Super Computer Running OS X
|

Anyone have a chance to see or play around with the new 128 node cluster system donated by NASA to WSU? The really neat thing is that it runs OS X! I'm a bit of a Mac fan so please excuse the fanboydom.
What's even cooler, is that the next OS X will rank up there with HP, IBM and SUN. It has achieved Unix 03 certification so it will be more likely to be used in business and science. Science is the particularly cool part.
I'll have to email someone at WSU and ask for a tour. |

Beginners Corner / Beginners Corner / Re: Scope that works with iBook

| Thanks again! I'll definitely get that book when I have some extra money. I'd also love some good software and since we both have G4's, it should work fine with my iBook. I'm going to save up for a while for a good scope, even a used one. I've also got school to consider. However, I'm definitely interested. Do you have a link to the site that writes the astro-software you use? Thanks! |

| Thanks! That did indeed help. It will probably be a while before I purchase that scope but I think sometime in the near future I will purchase Starry Night. I plan on getting a Macbook Pro before I get a Celestron Scope, and it will cost in the vicinity of $2400 or more. However, that Macbook Pro will have a 200 gig hard drive, so plenty of room for pics and programs! Thanks again! |

| I have a co-worker that would like some info on CD Radios. She has a lot of newbie questions about them. If you want to give me a contact email or phone number, you can privately send me a message. Thanks! |

Beginners Corner / Beginners Corner / Scope that works with iBook

I'm basically just window shopping but I'm wondering if there is a telescope out there, for beginners, that works with a Mac. I've got an iBook G4 that I might have for a while, and wouldn't mind doing some star gazing using it. Thanks!
